NEWS ADVISORY EMC to Testify Before U S House Subcommittee on Energy and Power on the Energy Efficient Government Technology Act on Behalf of ITI

HOPKINTON, MASS - April 29, 2015 -

EMC Corporation (NYSE: EMC) today announced that at 10:15 a.m. ET on Thursday, April 30, Rona Newmark, Vice President of Intelligent Efficiency Strategy at EMC, will testify on behalf of the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI) at a hearing before the United States House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Energy and Power, on a panel of invited experts. The hearing will examine the “Energy Efficient Government Technology Act.”

“This act is focused on helping to drive sustainable economic growth and energy independence across our nation’s economy, and to further the development of energy-efficient solutions. If passed, it will provide significant savings for U.S. taxpayers through reduced federal-government energy-use, and through greater productivity-per-watt expended. We are pleased to testify on behalf of ITI, and strongly urge adoption of the bill this year,” said Newmark in a statement prior to the testimony.
