MOMENTUM 2012 – VIENNA - November 06, 2012 -
At Momentum, the EMC Information Intelligence Group’s EMEA user conference, EMC Corporation (NYSE: EMC) today announced EMC® Captiva® 7.0, a best-in-class solution for transforming paper documents, faxes and other content into digital information used by enterprise applications. This new, significant release provides advanced capabilities for intelligent enterprise capture, business productivity and improved organizational agility. Captiva 7.0 introduces new features, including the Captiva Designer, Captiva Desktop and significant improvements to Captiva Advanced Recognition.
Intelligent enterprise capture solutions enable organizations to take action and process the paper that exists across nearly every department. Paper and electronic document remains critical to getting work done, whether to initiate a process, interact during a transaction or for supporting a decision, organizations require solutions to capture and classify relevant information that exists in paper and other unstructured content. Captiva supports such business solutions across a variety of verticals such as Public Sector, Financial Services including banking and insurance, Energy and engineering, Healthcare and Life Sciences.
For organizations with global operations, Captiva 7.0 supports multilingual content, including English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Japanese and Korean.
Captiva 7.0: Productivity, Intelligence and Agility
Productivity: Configurable unified interface optimized for operator productivityCaptiva 7.0 increases operator productivity with a new configurable, flexible desktop client for a variety of use cases. Captiva Desktop is a new client for capture operators; it can be easily customized for all types of capture tasks, including image quality review, document assembly, high-speed data entry and indexing, high speed data correction and data validation. Captiva Desktop optimizes the operator experience by supporting form layouts that look just like the paper document to promote context-aware indexing.
Intelligence: Accurate auto-learning that rivals human experts
Captiva Advanced Recognition is for more advanced and automated capture requirements. It includes new patent-pending text classification technology that significantly increases the accuracy rates for incoming documents. Unlike competitive products that rely heavily on administrators to determine classification rules at project setup time, Captiva automatically learns documents while in production by intelligently determining words and patterns to use for classifying a document. By combining this unique approach called Production Auto Learning with image-based classification, Captiva reduces project development time and operator productivity by delivering up to 20 percent higher accuracy than rules and templates created manually by experts.
Agility: Fastest time to value in the industry
Captiva Designer is a new unified tool for IT developers and administrators to simplify the configuration, deployment and ongoing maintenance of capture projects. The designer enables teams to easily configure data entry forms and validation rules, with point-and-click layout of fields and controls to promote context-aware indexing and validation. Captiva Designer saves time by quickly defining configuration profiles – document types, image processing, recognition, and exports – for reuse across multiple processes, and can migrate to a production system with a single click, enabling Captiva to deploy enterprise configurations – including both server and client settings – in seconds or minutes, compared to the hours or days required by competitive products.
Captiva is cloud ready and available via EMC® OnDemand, a private cloud deployment model for enterprise-class applications, designed to help customers accelerate their journey to the cloud.
