    EMC Corporation (NYSE: EMC) today announced that Forrester Research Inc. has positioned EMC® Documentum® as a Leader in its November 2011 report, "The Forrester Wave™: Enterprise Content Management (ECM), Q4 2011."

    According to Forrester, content-centric technologies are the future of ECM, and the technologies that are used to support various content types are categorized into four areas within ECM including foundational ECM (basic content management functionality such as workflow, search, and record management), business ECM (drives workplace experience for day-to-day tasks and collaboration), transactional ECM (back office processes, combines imaging, document output, and business process management), and pervasive ECM (multichannel marketing, lead generation, and customer self-service).
