HOPKINTON, Mass. – October 20, 2010 –EMC Corporation, the world leader in information infrastructure solutions, today hosted the fourth annual EMC Innovation Conference, bringing together the creative spirit, global diversity and technical and business expertise of the company’s 47,000-strong employee base to further advance cloud computing and shape future product and services offerings. Through the use of social and new media technologies, EMC employees from 26 countries submitted a record-setting 1,500-plus proposals for the company’s Innovation Showcase competition, held annually leading up to the conference. This year’s showcase winners (listed below) will be funded and incubated to determine their role in EMC’s future product and services portfolio.

The 47 Innovation Showcase finalist submissions for this year’s Innovation Conference covered a broad range of business, process and technology categories. The top three winners are:
In addition to the three winners, Innovation Showcase submissions were selected for Honorable Mention and People’s Choice awards. Submissions were also selected for 13 category awards, including the idea that best incorporates environmental sustainability principles, most strongly supports EMC’s Total Customer Experience philosophy, and best embodies and advances EMC’s internal IT operational excellence.
