    EMC Takes Thousands On a Journey to The Private Cloud at 10th Annual EMC World Conference

    Next week at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center, EMC Corporation (NYSE: EMC), the world leader in information infrastructure solutions, hosts its tenth annual EMC World conference for customers, partners, technologists, journalists and analysts from around the globe. Underscoring the event theme “The Journey to the Private Cloud,” EMC will reveal how this new model of computing delivers unprecedented gains in operational efficiency, quality of service and business agility for Enterprise IT departments. Highlights scheduled throughout the week include the introduction of exciting new breakthrough technologies that, for the first time, unlock the true potential of the private cloud.

    EMC World 2010 kicks off on Monday, May 10 with a keynote presentation delivered by EMC Chairman and CEO Joe Tucci.  Mr. Tucci will describe EMC’s private cloud vision and why EMC and its strategic partners are best aligned to guide customers on a safe and swift journey to the private cloud computing.

    Additional executive keynotes:

    • Pat Gelsinger, President and Chief Operating Officer, EMC Information Infrastructure Products, will explain the three major phases of the journey to the private cloud and showcase EMC’s innovative technologies and solutions.
    • Howard Elias, President and Chief Operating Officer, EMC Information Infrastructure and Cloud Services, will lead a panel of EMC and VMware experts offering practical guidance on issues ranging from fully virtualized data centers to implementing high levels of security in the virtual world.

    • Frank Slootman, President, EMC Backup Recovery Systems Division, will discuss how backup and recovery is being fundamentally transformed with data deduplication and how EMC’s offerings can help customers redesign their backup and recovery infrastructure for next-generation data protection.
    • Sanjay Mirchandani, EMC's Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, will focus on EMC IT’s own journey to the private cloud, including how EMC is transforming its own IT infrastructure, transitioning its IT organizations, and developing next-generation IT roles.
