EMC Appoints Frank Hauck to Lead Storage Division
HOPKINTON, Mass. - April 28, 2009 -
EMC Corporation (NYSE:EMC), the world leader in information infrastructure solutions, today named Executive Vice President Frank Hauck, an 18-year EMC veteran with a broad track record of success in several senior executive roles, as the interim leader of the company’s storage division. Hauck replaces David Donatelli, who has resigned from EMC to pursue another opportunity.
Joe Tucci, EMC Chairman, President and CEO, said, “EMC has built one of the deepest, most accomplished executive management teams in the IT industry. Additionally, we’re fortunate to have the world’s largest and most talented team of storage professionals advancing our lead in the marketplace. These combined strengths over the years have driven EMC to achieve market leadership in storage systems and storage management software. I’ve asked Frank to step in and lead the company’s storage division as we continue to aggressively invest and execute on our plan to further extend our technology and market leadership.”
Mr. Hauck, 49, has held a wide range of EMC senior leadership roles, including Chief Information Officer, Executive Vice President of Global Marketing and Customer Quality, and head of worldwide sales and services. Hauck was also Executive Vice President of Products and Offerings, helping EMC extend its product leadership while overseeing Enterprise Storage Research and Development and Worldwide Manufacturing Operations.
"We're extremely fortunate to have a seasoned leader with Frank’s credentials, industry track record and company-wide respect to lead EMC's storage business,” Tucci added. “Frank's extensive knowledge of EMC's information infrastructure business, his long-standing relationships with our customers and his focus on operational excellence are great advantages for EMC."
