HOPKINTON, Mass. - March 19, 2008 -
EMC Corporation (NYSE: EMC), the world leader in information infrastructure solutions, today announced that channel program executives, Mitch Breen, Senior Vice President, Global Channel Strategy and Sales, and Pete Koliopoulos, Vice President, Global Channel Marketing, have been named 2008 Channel Chiefs by CRN, the flagship publication of Everything Channel, the No. 1 destination for technology vendors and marketers looking to reach the $373 billion Solution Provider channel. CRN Channel Chiefs are recognized as influential executives who consistently defend, promote and execute effective channel partner programs and strategies.
Under Mitch and Pete’s leadership EMC continues to evolve the EMC Velocity² Partner Program to ensure it aligns to the needs of the partner community and delivers all the elements of a comprehensive go to market strategy for solution providers including partner enablement, ease of doing business, and accelerating partner profitability. As a result, the company experienced double digit growth in the past year as channel partners touched more than 50% of EMC’s worldwide revenue. Further, EMC received top honors in the 2007 CMP’s VARBusiness Annual Report Card being named company of the year for the two categories it competed in network storage and storage management software.
This is the sixth consecutive year that CRN has developed the Channel Chief list. Top Channel Chiefs were chosen based on criteria including policy and program innovations made during the past year, the amount of revenue their company generates through partners, their willingness to speak out publicly on behalf of the channel, and the number of years they have dedicated to channel activities.
“Both Mitch and Pete share a strong dedication to the continued success of the EMC Velocity² Partner Program,” said EMC’s Bill Scannell, Executive Vice President, Americas and Global Sales Programs. “Due to their steadfast commitment, EMC has successfully developed a strong and balanced portfolio of motivated, loyal and self-sufficient partners that play a critical role in EMC’s growth. The robust Velocity Program with its rich financial rewards not only supports partner enablement but provides partners with the opportunity to accelerate their profitability with EMC.”
“Successful channel programs and strategies help fuel the booming Solution Provider ecosystem, and each of this year's Channel Chiefs should be applauded for building and advocating the most successful of those programs and strategies,” said Dan Dignam, senior vice president and publisher of Everything Channel. “EMC’s focus and commitment to making their partners successful is evident through the continued evolution of the EMC Velocity Partner Program to meet the channels every changing needs.”
