    EMC Appoints Industry Veteran Harry L You to Executive Management Team

    Former BearingPoint CEO and Oracle CFO to Join EMC as Executive Vice President, Office of the Chairman

    HOPKINTON, Mass. - February 19, 2008 -

    EMC Corporation (NYSE:EMC), the world leader in information infrastructure solutions, today announced that former BearingPoint chief executive officer Harry L. You joined EMC as Executive Vice President, Office of the Chairman. Reporting to Joe Tucci, EMC Chairman, President and CEO, You will focus on helping accelerate EMC's key growth and efficiency initiatives leveraging his deep background in IT services, finance and investment banking.

    You, 48 years of age, most recently served as chief executive officer of BearingPoint, Inc., a management and technology consulting firm with 18,000 employees in 60 countries. In addition, he spent a number of years as chief financial officer at Oracle Corporation and Accenture. Prior to joining Accenture in 2001 to assist with its initial public offering, You spent more than 15 years in the financial services industry leading to the roles of managing director of Computer and Business Services Group at Morgan Stanley; senior vice president of the General Industrial Group at Lehman Brothers; and vice president at Salomon Brothers, Inc., running Salomon's Seoul, Korea office. You holds a bachelor of arts degree in economics from Harvard College and a master of arts degree in economics from Yale University.
