    Hopkinton, Mass. - December 12, 2006 -

EMC Corporation, the world leader in information management and storage, today announced that Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Virginia deployed EMC CLARiiON® CX3 storage systems and EMC NetWorker™ and EMC SnapView™ backup software to provide the capacity and performance needed for its core clinical and financial systems.

"We selected a vendor to replace the majority of our clinical and financial systems and were looking for a storage solution that would provide us with performance, scalability and good management tools," said Gregory Gum, Network Services Manager at Rockingham Memorial Hospital. "We also wanted a solution that would allow us to do data mirroring between our main hospital campus and offsite data center to protect and ensure the availability of our critical business information."

Rockingham Memorial recently chose the MEDITECH Client Server Platform for its core clinical applications including admitting, clinical care, radiology, pharmacy, billing and scanning and archiving. To provide the performance, scalability and flexibility to support this new system, Rockingham Memorial worked with I-Access, an EMC Velocity Authorized Services Network (ASN) partner to evaluate storage systems. As an ASN partner, I-Access offers Rockingham Memorial a variety of information infrastructure services, including consulting, implementation, integration, and support. Rockingham Memorial purchased a CLARiiON CX3-40 system based on the EMC-developed CLARiiON UltraScale™ architecture for the storage area network dedicated to its MEDITECH system.

"We were pleased with the performance of the EMC CLARiiON CX700 system we had in production for the last three years," said Gum. "When we began the hardware design phase, we were looking for another CX700 class storage system. We evaluated the EMC CLARiiON CX3 series and were impressed by the UltraScale architecture and the system's performance, so we worked with I-Access to design a solution using the CX3 platform."

Additionally, the hospital purchased a CLARiiON CX3-80 system to use in conjunction with their existing CLARiiON CX700 for disaster recovery and business continuity. To support this initiative, Rockingham Memorial recently replaced Symantec with EMC NetWorker backup and recovery software and also purchased EMC SnapView software to create local point-in-time copies of data that can be used for testing, backup, and recovery operations.

The EMC Velocity Partner Program enables solution providers and ISVs to ensure customers get the most value from their information infrastructure.
