    EMC Showcases Information Lifecycle Management Strength at Arma and ILM Solutions Conferences

    Hopkinton, - October 01, 2004 - EMC Corporation, the world leader in information storage and management, will present and demonstrate a variety of solutions to help customers implement their information lifecycle management (ILM) strategies at the ARMA and ILM Solutions 2004 conferences, co-located at the Long Beach (Calif.) Convention Center from October 3-6, 2004. In addition, Mark Sorenson , Senior Vice President of Information Management, EMC Software, will lead a number of presenters at both shows discussing EMC's Vision for ILM as well as a range of ILM-related technologies and issues. With the breadth of participation, EMC continues to demonstrate its ability in helping customers get the maximum value from their information, at the lowest cost, at every point in the information lifecycle.

    Also, EMC will participate in a number of Storage Networking Industry Association's (SNIA) implementation workshops and panels at the ILM Solutions 2004 conference, related to ILM, content-addressed storage (CAS), e-mail archiving, security, compliance and standards.

    At the ARMA Conference, EMC will reside in two separate booths - 933 and 1032. In Booth #933, EMC will demonstrate its EMC Documentum Records Manager, EMC Documentum Records Manager for ApplicationXtender and EMC Documentum Enterprise Content Management software. Documentum Records Manager enables organizations to create, safeguard, access and destroy records according to system-enforced policies, and is fully DoD 5015.2 certified. Documentum Enterprise Content Management brings intelligence and automation to the creation, management and distribution of vast quantities and types of content, including documents, Web pages and rich media through a common content platform and repository.

    In Booth #1032, EMC will demonstrate its EMC Legato EmailXtender e-mail management software. Legato EmailXtender is a centralized data storage and retrieval system that, based on user-defined policies, automatically moves data off the e-mail message server and into an e-mail archival system, capturing and indexing all incoming and outgoing e-mails.

    At the ILM Solutions 2004 Conference, EMC - a platinum sponsor, Booth #356 - will demonstrate a number of platform and software solutions that enable organizations to extract maximum value of information at the lowest total cost at every point in its lifecycle. They include:
