EMC's Corporate Marketing organization develops and delivers clear messages and compelling product offerings that help organizations around the world understand and implement the EMC E-Infostructure® - an information infrastructure based on EMC technology - in ways that save money and bring strategic value to their businesses. The Corporate Marketing organization is responsible for EMC's product marketing, alliances, branding and communications programs. In his marketing role, Donatelli reports to Joe Tucci, EMC's President and CEO. He will continue to report to EMC Executive Chairman Mike Ruettgers as head of new business development.
"EMC is helping companies of all sizes build information infrastructures that allow them to become more efficient and accelerate their businesses," said Tucci. "Dave brings more than a decade's worth of experience in working directly with EMC customers and helping them develop and deploy the right solutions. His experience will allow EMC to further capitalize on the growing worldwide demand for E-Infostructure and bring to market innovative new solutions that allow our customers to use their information in the most effective ways possible."
Donatelli joined EMC in 1987 and has held important management positions in nearly every area of the company, including sales, marketing, customer service, manufacturing and alliances. He led EMC's highly successful entry into the open systems market in 1995. As Senior Vice President of New Business Development for the past two years, Donatelli and his organization have been responsible for identifying companies and technologies for potential EMC acquisition or investment, and completing the execution of agreements with those EMC chooses to pursue. Under Donatelli's leadership, EMC has acquired and successfully integrated Data General, Softworks, CrossStor and several other strategically important additions to EMC's market-leading technology portfolio. Donatelli holds an undergraduate degree from Boston College and an MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management in Chicago.
